You make a good point, though. I wouldn't hang out with the bros so much if I thought they were using me as the token girl. They don't really hit on girls when I'm out with them. We just watch sports, drink beers, and make up elaborate jokes. They are all nice guys, though, so if my being there lends them a little nice-guy cred, I'm fine with that. As in, other women thinking, "Oh, he's with an interesting girl who obviously isn't his girlfriend -- maybe he's a nice guy?" Meanwhile, men will not approach you for fear that the guy you're with is with you and just being a jerk and hitting on other women. I don't know why Wingmen are so highly rated. I think Wingwomen are much more successful in helping men "close" the deal, so to speak. Although, unlike the occasionally successful Wingman, the Wingwoman has to make peace with her rapidly warming beverage of choice, and so many shy glances.
